For how long is ETA to Kenya valid?

The ETA (Electronic Travel Authorization) to Kenya is valid for 90 days from the date of issuance. This means that you must enter Kenya within this 90-day period, counted from the day your ETA application was approved.

It is important to note that the validity of the ETA does not refer to the length of stay in Kenya but to the period within which you can enter the country. The stay will be up to 90 consecutive days.

Additionally, it is crucial that you plan your trip so that you arrive in Kenya before the ETA expires. If you do not enter the country within these 90 days, you will need to apply for a new ETA.

For further illustration, if the ETA was issued on January 1st, it would be valid until March 31st, you must ensure you enter Kenya before March 31st for the ETA to be valid upon arrival.

Once in Kenya, if you plan to stay beyond the initial period allowed by immigration officials, you can apply for an extension of your visa at the Immigration Department offices in Nairobi or other major cities. You must apply before your original stay permit expires and it will be subject to the approval of immigration authorities.

Always remember to carry a copy of the approved ETA, as well as other supporting documents, such as a valid passport, travel itinerary, accommodation reservations, and any other documentation that may be requested by immigration officers upon your arrival.
